Rivertown Church is a Reformed Protestant church that worships the living Triune God as revealed in his Holy Word. We confess that Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, that all of the Scriptures point to and reveal Him, and that Christ is King and all of creation will indeed submit to his rule and reign at the Last (Col. 1:15; Luke 24:27; Is. 45:23).

Therefore,

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom,
that we may present everyone mature in Christ. (Colossians 1:28)

We are a body of believers who are being transformed by the grace of God for the glory of God. Our desire is to exalt Christ in all of life, every part of our lives adorning these truths that we confess:

What We Believe

Rivertown is a confessional church, and the 1689 (Second London) Confession of Faith is a good summary of the truths we confess and teach in our church. Rivertown requires each applicant for church membership to acknowledge that the 2LC is our church’s most comprehensive summary of what we believe and teach. They are not required to agree with it at every point but they do agree not to teach against what it affirms.

All of our members must affirm the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed.

How We Live

We are a covenantal church, united in our commitment to honor and worship God and to love each other according to his Word. To view our membership covenant, click here. How We Worship: Covenant Renewal Worship

Throughout the Scriptures, we find that God's people worship according to a pattern that many have come to call Covenant Renewal Worship. We structure our liturgy accordingly, the form of our worship finding its shape conforming to the gospel, God's story of His redemption of all things through Jesus Christ:

Call: We begin the Lord's Service by corporately responding to God's call of ascension and worship.

Confession: We corporately confess our sins before God, who is just and holy.

Consecration: We then submit ourselves to the Word of God, being consecrated by the sword of His Spirit

Communion: This is the climax of our worship wherein we commune with Christ and one another, as we receive his body and blood at the Lord's Table. All who have been baptized into Christ Jesus are welcome to partake of the sacred meal.

Commission: We conclude our worship with a commissioning for the week ahead. In Christ Jesus, the Church has been blessed to be a blessing unto all peoples. Therefore, the pastors commission the congregants with a holy benediction.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
(Psalm 95:6-7)
